Las Palmas are sending defender Mauricio Lemos on-loan to Serie ASassuolo.

Lemos, who was a target for Barcelona 18 months ago, is joining Sassuolo to the end of this season with the option to sign permanently.

The defender was hooked by Las Palmas coach Paco Jemez at halftime of their win over Valencia as he was barracked by home fans.

The Uruguay international is expected to sign for Sassuolo on Monday.

Barca had a €4m offer for Lemos rejected by Las Palmas less than two years ago.
