Sunderland midfielder Seb Larsson says skipper John O'Shea can handle the criticism of manager Paolo di Canio this week.

Di Canio singled out the Republic of Ireland international after he was sent off in the defeat at Crystal Palace at the weekend.

Larsson said: "He'll cope with that fine. He's been about long enough and he's a strong enough character not to be affected at all."
