Former Barcelona president Joan Laporta is confident they will sign Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas this summer.

Laporta will hand over the presidency to Sandro Rosell on July 1.

"It's hard to sign Cesc before June 30 because Arsenal has a fixed position and it's difficult to change this position in a few days," he told Barcelona's official website.

"If not us, then it falls to the incoming directors, if they see fit, to continue on this path.

"Arsenal will finally give in, but I do not know when it will, therefore, we have to wait and let the professionals in charge do their work."
