Barcelona president Joan Laporta says Pep Guardiola's commitment to a new 12-month deal has brought stability to the club.

Guardiola has announced he will soon sign a contract for next season with Barca.

"I hope he remains for many more years to come," said Laporta.

"It is good for Barcelona because he is the best coach in the world. It has settled some alarm among the fans and has given stability to the team and the institution."
