Langerak keeps clean sheet as Dortmund ease past Marseille
Mitch Langerak made his first UEFA Champions League start as Borussia Dortmund cruised past Marseille 3-0 on Tuesday night.
The 25-year old Australian goalkeeper, who replaced Roman Weidenfeller when he was sent off in the 2-1 loss at Napoli on Matchday 1, stepped in for the suspended German at Signal Iduna Park and managed to keep a clean sheet as the Bundesliga club got their European campaign under way.
The former Melbourne Victory youngster was absolutely delighted with his European debut, with his family watching from Australia, and was thankful to his Dortmund teammates for helping force a shutout.
"Yes, I've talked to them (the family), I think it's 5 o'clock back home and I'm very happy that they've seen the game," said Langerak.
"Today, it was incredible and I will remember this night all my life.
"I wanna thank all the guys for helping get the job done."
