Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard is seriously considering a move to Manchester United. The Daily Express says United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is considering making an offer to Lampard when he is released by Chelsea after his contract expires at the end of this season.

A source close to Lampard said: "Frank has been incredibly touched by the support he has received from Chelsea fans in recent weeks and feels a real emotional bond with them.

"He is aware that a move to United could damage his relations with fans and his legendary status at Chelsea. Look at how Arsenal fans received Robin van Persie's move to United."

The source added: "Frank has to think of what remains of his career and the lure of a move to Old Trafford. The chance to see out his career in the Premier League is a big one."
