Frank Lampard Snr believes Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp could make a future return to West Ham United.

"During our time at West Ham, a lot of the players we brought through the youth system were sold to keep the club going and that should not been forgotten," said Lampard, now a consultant at Watford.

"I wouldn't have been surprised if Harry had gone back to West Ham, he probably would have jumped at the chance a while back. Football is funny, though, and I still wouldn't be totally surprised if he went back to West Ham one day."

Redknapp was asked if he thought he might return: "No, not really ... I thought I would finish at Portsmouth but you never know what is around the corner in life."
