Frank Lampard has asked new club Manchester City not to consider him for selection ahead of any games against Chelsea. Lampard signed for City yesterday on a six-month loan from New York City FC and during negotiations made it clear he would be reluctant to face his old club this coming season.
Asked about the request, City manager Manuel Pellegrini remarked: "I will talk about those things with him.
"But he is a player for Manchester City, he will play every game that he needs to play."
