Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard believes Liverpool's problems mirror what they were going through earlier this season.

On Jose Mourinho's departure, Lampard told the Mail on Sunday: "Jose texted me the night he went. I couldn't believe it, but looking back, I can see the warning signs.

"Chelsea is a soap opera and there were too many things coming out, similar to how Liverpool is at the moment.

"Football has changed and decisions can be made much more ruthlessly than in the past."
