Frank Lampard insists Andriy Shevchenko tried to make it work at Chelsea.

"Sheva tried very hard to make it work at Chelsea, but only he can explain why it didn’t work out for him," admitted Lampard yesterday.

"There were probably reasons such as injuries, a run in the team and then being out of it again. It’s not easy coming from a different country, not everyone settles straight away. He would admit that."
