Lampard hopes for Chelsea stay

England midfielder Frank Lampard has hinted he is ready to remain at Chelsea next season and help them try to reclaim the title.

Lampard has two years left of his current deal and negotiations over a new deal are ongoing.

He intends to rest up this summer before helping Jose Mourinho's attempt to win the title for the third time in four years.

Lampard said: "I am looking forward to a summer. It's been a very long season. The last few seasons have all been long. I've got a clear month now and I am looking forward to resting a lot.

"I've felt tired at different stages of my career. Sometimes you feel tired at Christmas when you are bogged down with games.

"It's just a matter of resting at the right times and now I've got a good summer.

"But I am looking forward to a good season with Chelsea where we want to win the league next year. It is important we come back firing and do that."
