Chelsea had agreed terms with Frank Lampard over a new contract back in September, it has been revealed.

Lampard broke his silence today over his frustration at how Chelsea were delaying opening negotiations over a new deal.

The Sun says Lampard actually AGREED terms on a new £125,000-a-week contract back in September.

But the deal fell through over the player's demand for a get-out clause two years down the line if he was not happy with the new management team at Stamford Bridge.

Those negotiations took place in the immediate aftermath of Jose Mourinho's shock departure and Lampard wanted to be sure he fitted into the new manager's plans.
