Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard is confident the away goal scored by Salomon Kalou against Inter Milan in the Champions League on Wednesday night gives his side a great chance of progressing to the next stage.
It looked like it would be a fruitless night for the Blues at the San Siro after Diego Miltio but Jose Mourinho's side in front after just 3 minutes but the visitors managed to rally through Kalou six minutes after the break only to see Esteban Cambiasso make it 2-1 four minutes later.
But despite the loss, Lampard says the away goal is vital to their Euro hopes.
"There's still the game in London to go. On the balance of play, possession, shots on target, I thought we were the stronger team, but we knew how Inter were going to play, they do like to soak up pressure and that's what they did," Lampard told ITV.
"(Mourinho's) very clever in the way he plays. They came to wait for us, we gave away the goal, came back, then let another in but we've got the away goal and that gives us a chance.
"We've got the away goal, but obviously we've got to beat them at home so it's in the balance."
