Lampard played 30 times during an injury-riddled campaign, scoring 13 goals.
He admitted to the Daily Star: "It is the end of a disappointing season.
"My first major injury and it has been tough. When you don't win anything at a club of our stature it's disappointing.
"I've been fortunate to be a winner at club level and you have to take these kind of seasons on the chin, as you do with England.
"Club and international football always go hand in hand. England feels good at the moment and I have enjoyed the change of formation, new ideas and new faces. It is important to keep developing young players."
