Frank Lampard admits Chelsea were grateful to Petr Cech after their Champions League stalemate at FC Cluj.
Cech was called upon to make two timely interventions and he then pulled off a reflex save late in the game to deny Cluj's marauding Uruguayan full-back Alvaro Pereira.
Cech's intervention means Chelsea extended their unbeaten run under Scolari to nine matches.
Lampard said: "Normally, the group stage throws up one like this. Entertainment not very high, it is a tight game. In that situation it is important not to lose.
"People took notice after Roma result and we knew what we were up against. Teams in Romania are technically strong.
"Petr is the best keeper in the world. He makes those saves time and again."
