Rickie Lambert is of the belief that Dejan Lovren will add plenty of strength to Southampton's defensive stocks.
The Croatian centre-half recently joined the Saints from Lyon for £8.5million and St Mary's star forward Lambert has welcomed the exciting addition.
"I didn't know too much about him but I've read up on him and he will be a very, very good addition to the squad," Lambert told the club's official website.
"I haven't met him yet but I can't wait. Hopefully he'll help push us on."
23-year old Lovren, who started his career with Dinamo Zagreb, made over 70 French Ligue 1 appearances for Lyon during his stay and has also represented Croatia on 17 occasions.
