Lambert strikes on debut as England edge Scotland at Wembley

Rickie Lambert scored on his England debut to help his country to a 3-2 victory over Scotland at Wembley on Wednesday night.

The Southampton striker headed home in the 70th minute, not long after replacing Wayne Rooney, as the Three Lions twice came from behind to eventually overrun the Scots.

West Bromwich Albion's James Morrison opened the scoring for the visitors in the 11th minute when his effort somehow made its way past Joe Hart before Arsenal ace Theo Walcott levelled on the half-hour mark.

Scotland again took the ascendency through veteran Kenny Miller early in the second half before Danny Welbeck again equalised prior to Lambert's winner 20 minutes from time.
