Lambert has full trust in Norwich players

Norwich City boss Paul Lambert insists he has full faith in his players but is not scared to make the tough calls required to give the club success in the Premier League.

The Canaries scored their first win of the season with a 2-1 result at Bolton on Saturday with Lambert making some interesting selection choices - notably leaving out captain Grant Holt.

But Lambert says he will do what it takes on a game-by-game basis to help his Norwich side achieve the desired results.

"I think every decision you make is hard, but we only try to pick a team that wins a game," he told the Pink'Un.

"I have got to do my best for the football club and sometimes I make decisions that have to be made - but I explained it to the lads.

"They know exactly why I do it and to be fair to them they have taken it on board."

He added: "The likes of David Fox and Russell Martin (who surprisingly started), I know them really well because I have had them for two years.

"They know me, and you expect them to perform for you - that is how much trust I have got in them.

"Not just those two, but I trust the lads to give me everything they have got."
