Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert admits they need to buy in January after defeat at West Bromwich Albion.

Fabian Delph and Ron Vlaar returned from injury but Lambert knows they need more depth.

He said: "I don't think we have the strongest (squad depth), but we've got Fabian back and (Philippe) Senderos is close but I think you are always trying to improve the quality and squad size."
