Southampton skipper Adam Lallana is convinced they can secure European football this season.
Lallana has backed up manager Mauricio Pochettino's ambitious claims his side can stay there.
Long-serving Lallana, who scored his first goal of the season against the Swans, said: "For however long we are fourth we are going to want to stay there and look up - we are not going to look behind us.
"We deserve to be there. We've been consistent. We've kept clean sheets.
"People might say we haven't played the best teams yet but we've been to Anfield and picked up three points and Swansea are no walkovers.
"They're going to finish in the top half this year; they're a really good side and will take points off good teams. We're going to quietly go about our business.
"This is the best and most confident squad I've been involved in and we have competition for places."
