Lahm blasts Beckenbauer for winding-up England ahead of Sunday

Bayern Munich's Germany captain Philipp Lahm admits being wary of a below-par Wayne Rooney tomorrow.

Lahm slammed legendary countryman Franz Beckenbauer for branding England a "kick-and-rush" team.

And he claimed Manchester United striker Rooney could finally end his goal drought in the World Cup crunch.

Lahm admitted: "I didn't know Beckenbauer said that. England have perfect qualities, play the opposite of kick and rush and, in Rooney, they have an excellent striker.

"With the ball at his feet, he's dynamite, quicksilver."
