The Salvadoran community of Los Angeles welcomed Chivas USA recruit Osael Romero to town earlier this week.
The 23-year old El Salvador native has signed a loan deal with Chivas from Vista Hermosa and has welcomed with open arms to the LA-based club.
But head coach Martin Vasquez was making it known that Romero was signed for his playing ability and not the fact that he is likely to attract Salvadoran fans to the Home Depot Center.
"I want to make sure it is clear: his soccer skills are what captured most of our attention and he is here because of those skills," Vasquez said.
But despite his comments, the Salvadorans were on hand to greet him, led by William Jarquin from the Salvadoran Consulate General office in Los Angeles who did the honors of welcoming Romero on behalf of the local Salvadoran community.
