Tourism Malaysia has sealed a global sponsorship deal with La Liga, the governing body of Spanish football, reports, www.sportspromedia.com/.
The board will become La Liga's official tourism destination partner, in a year-long deal brokered by Mediapro, and hopes to leverage the league's popularity to generate tourist interest in the south-east Asian nation.
Tourism Malaysia will receive considerable branding at La Liga fixtures and on TV broadcasts across the globe.
"La Liga is the best league in the world, with a huge fanbase in Asia," said Tourism Malaysia director general Datuk Seri Mirza Mohammad Taiyab.
"This branding exercise will help attract the interest of sports fans in Asia, especially La Liga supporters, to consider Malaysia as their next holiday destination."
