LA Lakers star Bryant: Beckham disappointed but will still be a good Olympics ambassador

Kobe Bryant is confident that David Beckham will put aside his disappointment of missing out on Great Britain football team selection for this summer's Olympic Games.

The 37-year old LA Galaxy midfielder was left out of Stuart Pearce's Team GB squad for his home Games but close friend Bryant, star of the LA Lakers, feels he will still uphold his duties as Olympics ambassador.

"I know David Beckham well and I love Becks and I tease him all the time about the Olympics coming up, I know he's going to have a great amount of responsibility so he's going to be pretty busy as an ambassador," Bryant told Mancunian Matters.

"So he's looking forward to it and he's very excited.

"Yeah he was disappointed to have missed out and I would have liked to have seen him some type of role in the team, with his leadership and his intelligence.

"He would definitely have helped the team out."
