LA Galaxy striker Robbie Keane says his time at Aston Villa couldn't have worked out better.

Keane moved to LA Galaxy last year and went on loan to Villa during their off-season.

He claims his two-month spell at Villa has made him as sharp as he has been for years ahead of Ireland's first major tournament since 2002.

Keane said: "It couldn't have worked out better, in terms of keeping myself fit and playing games.

"You want to play and play every week. I am not one of these players who can sit on the bench and pick up my money.

"I enjoyed my spell at Villa, but I don't have any unfinished business with the Premier League."
