LA Galaxy star David Beckham won't rule out international retirement after being left out of Fabio Capello's England squad yesterday.
The former England captain told the Independent: "I don't want to retire yet and I don't plan on retiring from club or international football. But you never say never. Things might change that might make me feel maybe it is time.
"I don't fear it [retirement]. Of course I am going to miss football. I have played for nearly all my life. To stop will be difficult but this is why I want to be able to create something after football. I will be spending more time with the family but I want to put something back into a game that has given me so much. The academies and Unicef [the charity for whom he is a "Goodwill ambassador"] give me the chance to do other things that I will enjoy when I have finished playing.
"You have ups and downs. It's part of football and it's how you come out of that. To have 99 caps says a lot for me so far. It's been a rollercoaster at times. I would never change anything about my England career apart from the fact that I would have loved to have won something. Or I would like to win something. There have been more good times than bad but I would never change it for the world."
