For David Beckham the frustration continues as LA Galaxy were beaten by Columbus Crew 1-0. "The frustration was there a few months ago but we're in a position where we could still qualify for the playoffs, believe it or not," Beckham said. "It's tough when you have to win games. When you don't win games you don't give yourself a chance. Tonight the work rate was there and the togetherness was there."
LA Galaxy coach Bruce Arena wasn't as unhappy as some might have expected.
"You can sort all the math you want but we're not winning games," Arena said. "Whether it's for the playoff race or not we need to win games. Tonight was progress. You might look at me and say, 'That guy's crazy. They lost 1-0,' but for me that was progress."
Someone else who will not be happy if LA Galaxy miss the play-offs will be Landon Donavan, although with all the latest transfer rumours surrounding the Los Angeles star goal scorer he may be available for those medicals sooner rather than later.
