LA Galaxy's Beckham needs Premiership move to keep England place

LA Galaxy midfielder David Beckham needs to make a loan move to the Premiership in the MLS offseason to keep his England place.

The Mail on Sunday says Beckham, 33, is weighing up whatever options would allow him to play on during the winter and retain his place in Capello's squad. A spokesman for Beckham said: "In the next few weeks we will have an idea what David is doing in January and February."

Although Fabio Capello is happy to award Beckham his 108th cap against Germany next month, which would equal Moore's record for an outfield player, he insists that Beckham will be axed from the squad for the friendly against Spain in February.

Capello said: "For the next game Beckham can play. Whether he will play, I don't know. But for the game against Spain he won't play. He will not be in the squad."
