The Galaxy's newest signing revealed he had been working on his fitness during a three-week holiday in the south of France and he was hopeful of being fit to face the FA Cup winners at the Home Depot Center in a friendly on July 21.
"I was on a bicycle, doing a lot for the last two weeks, so physically I'm great, doing 45 kilometres a day. So that was good for me physically," he said.
"My ankle is still slightly swollen. I ran on it for the first time about three days ago in London and it felt slightly unstable still.
"So there's still a bit of work to do and hopefully I'll be getting that work done in the next couple of days by massaging and treatment and hopefully a bit of running.
"We'll take it from there and hopefully it should be right for the first game against Chelsea."
