LA Galaxy swoop for Columbus Crew's Miglioranzi

LA Galaxy coach Bruce Arena has swooped for Columbus Crew midfielder Stefani Miglioranzi. Miglioranzi moves to the Galaxy in exchange for a conditional pick in the 2010 MLS Draft.

The Brazilian-born Miglioranzi, 31, won an NCAA championship at St. John's University in New York in 1996 before playing for eight years in England, notably with Swindon Town and Portsmouth.

He joined the Galaxy in 2006 but played in only three matches before being traded to Columbus, where he played in 40 games over the last two seasons, starting 24.

The Galaxy this week also signed another of its former players, midfielder Leonard Griffin, 25, of the Portland Timbers while releasing Argentine midfielder Eduardo Dominguez, who appeared in only three games in 2008.
