LA Galaxy stars Beckham, Donovan, Keane joined by 3,000 at Home Depot Center
The Galaxy made it back-to-back championships when they beat Houston Dynamo for a second year in a row, coming from behind to salute 3-1 on Saturday.
Captain Donovan was so appreciative of the support form the LA faithful and made it clear that the players wanted to share their spoils with the fans after bypassing a similar celebration last year.
"I think we regret that a little bit," Donovan said.
"It's nice for us to go out and get recognized, but it's also nice for us to be appreciative of our fans. Of everybody, I've seen some really bad times here, so it's nice to appreciate the good ones."
And of course, a lot of the focus was on Beckham, who was quick to thank the fans and his teammates for the past six years in LA.
"I want to thank you, it's been amazing. It's always nice to be liked and loved by the fans that support the team," he said.
"We've got a truly amazing bunch of guys here. They are very important on the field but off the field even more so.
"They are all really special people. I've learnt that over the last six years. Thank you very much for everything you've done for me and for the team.
"It's been an honour playing here, it's been an honour being here and I'll continue being part of this team in the future."
As the supporters repeatedly chanted 'one more year', Beckham again made it clear that he would not be back in a Galaxy shirt in 2013.
"Lastly, I'm sorry to disappoint but this is my last year so I apologize," he added.
