LA Galaxy star Landon Donovan is not the father of a child that a British woman is expecting.

Donovan was informed of the possibility that the child could be his but the truth has come out and he is relieved that he is not the father.

"I will not be a dad any time soon, which is good news for me," Donovan told E! Online at the ESPY Awards in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

The reports arose after the World Cup from a dalliance Donovan had when playing for Everton in England earlier this year and at the time said "I will provide the appropriate support" if the child was his.
