Italian club AS Roma are reportedly showing considerable interest in LA Galaxy star Landon Donovan.
Reports emanating in Italy suggest that the Roman club are set to pursue the USA international this summer who is in top form with seven goals in eight MLS matches this season.
It is believed that Roma would have to pay a transfer fee of around $15million and according to Corriere dello Sport, Roma's American owner Thomas DiBenedetto will push hard for his signature.
Donovan has had three spells away from Major League Soccer - first with German club Bayer Leverkusen where he started his professional career - before briefly joining Bayern Munich in 2009 and then having a successful loan spell with Everton early last year. Long has he been linked with a Galaxy departure but as of yet he has rejected all overtures and remained in his homeland for the most part, however, a lucrative deal could see him finally leave.
