LA Galaxy snap up $55m TV deal with Time Warner

Time Warner and MLS giants LA Galaxy have joined forces in a massive TV rights deal that will span a decade.

The Galaxy have opted against Fox Sports and will now be broadcast by Time Warner Cable in a deal worth $5.5million a year for 10 years.

TWC will show Galaxy's MLS and LA Lakers' NBA games on its English/Spanish cable channel that it will kick off in 2012.

The official announcement of the deal should come later this week, as the Galaxy prepare for Sunday's MLS Cup final at The Home Depot Center against Houston Dynamo.
