LA Galaxy signs ex-Chicago Fire, Hammarby midfielder Husidic

LA Galaxy have confirmed the signing of Baggio Husidic from Swedish club Hammarby IF.

LA Galaxy have confirmed the signing of Baggio Husidic from Swedish club Hammarby IF.

The Galaxy acquired the rights to the 26-year old Bosnian-American from Colorado Rapids in July, while he was still in Sweden, and now he has signed a deal with the reigning MLS champions.

“He's an experienced player who can play in different positions in the midfield, so I think he'll offer a value to our team, for sure,” Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena said of the former Chicago Fire man.

“... He's a good passer of the ball; that's something we can always be better at. I think he'll be a good addition to our team.”

Galaxy assistant Dave Sarachan added: “I think Baggio's a guy that has real flexibility in terms of position.

“He can play centrally, he can play in a diamond, out wide. I know at Hammarby he played at center back a few weeks. What that means is he's got a soccer brain.”
