LA Galaxy seal deal with private university

LA Galaxy have signed a deal with Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU), reports, www.sportspromedia.com/.

The deal between the club and the private university will see Galaxy players able to study alongside their playing careers, while SNHU students will have access to internship opportunities with the team.

SNHU, which has 70,000 students nationwide, will also provide a full scholarship to a member of the local community at an unveiling of a mini-pitch at a school in Santa Ana on 4th March.

SNHU already has a wider deal with MLS. Within that deal, the university is working with the league's CSR arm, MLS Works, and its kit sponsor Adidas to build 20 mini-pitches in underserved communities across North America.

SNHU and the LA Galaxy will also work together in the creation of a 'Science of Soccer' curriculum, designed to teach science principles through the lens of soccer.

This programme will be available to elementary school teachers throughout the Los Angeles public school system.
