LA Galaxy's Saunders enters substance abuse programme

LA Galaxy goalkeeper Josh Saunders has been entered into Major League Soccer's substance abuse treatment program.

The 31-year old gloveman has not been suspended or stood down by the Galaxy or MLS but cannot play until he completes a treatment protocol.

LA have listed his absence from the club as 'for personal reasons' as the Galaxy first choice keeper tries to overcome some sort of substance problem. He will go into the same program as New England Revolution captain Shalrie Joseph entered in 2010.
