LA Galaxy forward Mike Magee has been named the MLS Player of the Week for Week 1 of the 2013 season.
The 28-year old scored a hat-trick in the MLS champions' 4-0 opening weekend victory over Chicago Fire on Sunday to take out league honours.
The treble was Magee's first in his career as he led the Galaxy to a resounding triumph at The Home Depot Center with goals in the 38th, 68th and 74th minutes before skipper Robbie Keane rounded out the romp.
Magee has been voted MLS Player of the Week on one other occasion for the Galaxy back in June 2011.
