LA Galaxy technical director Jovan Kirovski is hoping former club Borussia Dortmund can again salute in the Champion League final.
The 37-year old was part of the Dortmund squad that took out the 1997 Champions League title with a 3-1 victory over Juventus in Munich and he is hoping they can produce a similar result when they meet Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich at Wembley this Saturday.
"I'm excited for them. I've followed them throughout the years," Kirovski told MLSsoccer.com.
"They were in a tough time financially for a period [during the last decade], and they've brought them back to a really healthy financial state, brought in young players, and what a team [coach Juergen Klopp] put together.
"Great team to watch, full of energy, young, hungry. They're exciting to watch, for sure."
Of the 1997 final, Kirovski recalled: "It was amazing. We had Karlheinz Riedle with two headers and (Lars) Ricken with a chip. I remember like today. It was a great result."
As for this weekend, he predicted: "I'll say Dortmund, 1-0. I think they can win. They're tactically very good, they have some very good players. I believe they're good enough to win, for sure."
