LA Galaxy's Keane taking positive attitude to Euro2012 for Republic of Ireland

Robbie Keane says everybody involved with the Republic of Ireland squad believes they can achieve success at Euro2012.

The LA Galaxy striker will lead the Irish team into battle in Poland and Ukraine, starting with Croatia on Sunday, and he is going into the tournament with a very open mind.

? When asked what the teams goal was, this was Keane's reply: "The trophy. You have to go into these believing. Even though we're underdogs, we have to believe that you can win every game."

The mentality comes as Ireland prepare for their first major competition since the 2002 World Cup and Keane is hoping they can make the most of this rarity.

"You take things for granted when you're younger," Keane added.

"When I was 21, playing in the World Cup, you think every two years the Euros and stuff like that, it's basically going to happen.

"Unfortunately, it hasn't for us. We've been so close on numerous occasions, but we just haven't gotten there."
