Robbie Keane is not offering any excuses for Republic of Ireland's poor performance at Euro2012.
The Irish finished at the bottom of Group C with zero points from three matches, having scored just one goal and conceding nine, to have the worst record at the tournament provided Sweden don't lose by more than six goals to France tonight.
LA Galaxy star Keane says the preparation of Giovanni Trapattoni's squad for the competition was spot on but concedes the Irish simply came up against much better opponents in Spain, Italy and Croatia.
"We can stand here and say this, that and the other. We couldn't have prepared better than we had.
"We've been beaten by teams that are superior to us. That's it, simple as that.""Everything has been fine. There are no excuses," he said following last night's 2-0 loss to Italy.
