LA Galaxy defender Omar Gonzalez is set to join German Bundesliga club FC Nuremberg on loan.
The 23-year old centre-back has been given permission to depart the USA national squad's January training camp to immediately link up with his new teammates at Nuremberg, where he will spend the next five or so weeks.
Gonzalez, who was named the 2011 MLS Defender of the Year as the Galaxy trumped the MLS Cup, will make the Frankenstadion his home until February 15 as Nuremberg strive to improve on their current position of 15th on the Bundesliga table.
