LA Galaxy star Landon Donovan has landed his sixth Honda USA national team Player of the Year award.
Donovan has backed up his 2002, 2003, 2004, 2007 and 2008 awards by winning a sixth in nine years.
The 27-year old held off goalkeeper Tim Howard and teenage striker Jozy Altidore to grab the award which was deserved after a brilliant season with the US national team, including strong performances during their successful CONCACAF World Cup qualifying campaign.
Donovan will now attempt to lead the LA Galaxy to the MLS Cup after the club recently secured play-offs action.
