USA star Landon Donovan was full of praise for Mexican duo Giovani dos Santos and Pablo Barrera after Saturday's CONCACAF Gold Cup final.
The Tottenham and West Ham United players were the catalysts for Mexico's 4-2 win, scoring three of El Tri's goals, and LA Galaxy's Donovan was complimentary of the influence they had on the game despite the fact that the US defence kept Javier Hernandez quiet.
"You have to give Mexico a lot of credit. They are difficult team to play against, and they have a bunch of guys that can make special plays," he said after the game.
"Tonight I thought Gio (dos Santos) was excellent, Barrera was excellent. Actually of all things we did a good job with Chicharito, preventing his chances, but they just had too much for us and they were good."
