LA Galaxy star Landon Donovan admitted he was ecstatic after he helped his side to a 2-1 win over cellar dwellers DC United on Saturday night.
The Galaxy, currently with the best record in MLS, found themselves a goal down at the 80-minute mark against the side with the least points in the competition before Donovan stepped up to score twice and give his side a unlikely come-from-behind victory.
The reigning MLS MVP said it was great to be a part of a win like that although he would have settled for a draw at one point late in the game.
"There are nights throughout the year when you don't play well - and we didn't play well at all - but it's important to find a way to get something out of the game," Donovan said.
"To be honest, after the way we played, if we would have gotten a point of the game I would have been ecstatic. To win the game is pretty remarkable, but we'll take it."
