LA Galaxy's Buddle: Beckham will be ready for Newcastle Jets

David Beckham will no doubt be ready for the LA Galaxy's exhibition match with the Newcastle Jets tomorrow night. They are the sentiments of teammate Edson Buddle who was of firm belief that the 35-year midfielder is at peak fitness despite tweaking his groin in the Galaxy's final match of the MLS season (semi-final loss to FC Dallas) on November 14.

"He seems like he never rests. He's been ready for this game. I saw him on the treatment table yesterday and I'm sure he is psyched to play this game," Buddle said.

"He's one of the fittest guys on the team. He's a true professional. He doesn't joker around too much when he comes to training and you will see a quality player on show tomorrow."

Buddle added that he believes the standard of football in Australia is of a high quality and was eagerly anticipating the clash with the A-League's Jets at EnergyAustralia Stadium.

"The quality of the soccer here is good. I've spoken to a few locals and they say the level needs to go higher but I think there are quality players here and it's going to be a good match (on Saturday)," he added.

There are only about 200 tickets remaining for the match with the crowd expecting to be around 22,000 for what is a huge event for football in Newcastle and the Hunter region.
