LA Galaxy star David Beckham remains the highest-paid MLS player despite not playing a competitive game in the league since last year. Beckham is currently out of action because of a torn Achilles tendon injury he sustained on loan with Italian club AC Milan earlier this year but still tops the list for annual salary.

The former Manchester United and Real Madrid midfielder receives $US6.5million ahead of Galaxy teammate Landon Donovan on $2.13m, New York Red Bull striker Juan Pablo Angel on $1.92m, Toronto FC midfielder Julian de Guzman on $1.72m with former Arsenal star and current Seattle Sounders midfielder Freddie Ljungberg on $1.31m.
