LA Galaxy’s Beckham set for September 11 return

LA Galaxy star David Beckham has set September 11 for his return to MLS action following injury.

The 35-year old midfielder has been out of action since March after seriously injuring his Achilles whilst on loan with Italian club AC Milan but is close to a return, just in time for the MLS play-offs.

Beckham told Galaxy’s official website that the clash with Columbus Crew is the one he has targeted.

"The doctors' original (return) date was October 1, but I always kind of said I want to be ready before then,” he said.

"I'll keep my fingers crossed and hopefully will play in part of the game here against Columbus. I'll be on the bench, and hopefully I'll get on the field for 15-20 minutes. That's what I'm looking at.”
