LA Galaxy’s Beckham named MLS Comeback Player of the Year

LA Galaxy star David Beckham has been named the 2011 MLS Comeback Player of the Year.

The veteran midfielder made just seven appearances last season after tearing his Achilles tendon on loan with AC Milan but returned to action this campaign to help guide the Galaxy to the MLS Cup final with his MLS career-high of 26 outings.

Beckham provided 15 assists in 2011 – the second most in the competition – to win the award ahead of DC United forward Charlie Davies (on loan from Sochaux) and Chicago Fire’s Dominic Oduro.
