David Beckham says is eagerly anticipating Saturday's international friendly against Spanish giants Real Madrid.
The 36-year old LA Galaxy midfielder spent a few years with Madrid before moving to the USA in 2007 and is excited about meeting up with some of his former teammates in the Herbalife World Football Challenge.
Beckham missed the clash between the two sides last summer so is looking forward to being on the pitch with players from his former club.
"It was disappointing (to miss out) because you always want to play in those games. They're exciting games, especially in front of a capacity crowd. Hopefully I'll be good for this one," he said.
"To be facing Real Madrid for the first time since I left, it's emotional. You get attached to a club, you get attached to people in a club.
"I spent four amazing years at Real Madrid. To go from a club like Manchester United to Real Madrid, it really doesn't get much better than that in football. I've got many friends still there, many friends as players and fans and throughout the club as well."
